2020 NFL Draft: Zack Baun had diluted urine sample at the combine
Wisconsin linebacker and 2020 NFL Draft projected first-round pick Zack Baun has diluted his urine sample at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Wisconsin linebacker Zack Baun, who is projected to be a 2020 NFL Draft late first-round pick in many people’s mock draft, reportedly submitted a diluted urine sample to the NFL Scouting Combine drug test. Baun, himself, informed all 32 teams about this diluted urine sample.
The Wisconsin prospect Baun has acknowledged the diluted sample buy says it was simply because he has drunk a lot of water in an effort to add a few pounds to his size when weighed in at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. At the NFL Scouting Combine, Baun weighed in at 238 pounds.
Under the old Collective Bargaining Agreement, a diluted urine sample at the NFL Scouting Combine would have been treated as a positive test. That is no longer the case under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement that was recently put into place just this offseason.
Baun, 23, is considered to be one of the best hybrid linebackers in this year’s draft class. Experts have discussed that Baun could sneak into the back half of the first round, but now with these diluted tests, teams might have a hard time trusting Baun. We have all seen players that have falling out of the first or even second round due to action off the field, this could happen to Baun.
During Baun’s college career at Wisconsin, he has recorded 152 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, four pass breakups, and a defensive touchdown over the course of three seasons. Baun played 34 games for the Wisconsin Badgers.
