2020 NFL Draft Team Needs

Cornerback

The Detroit Lions were active this offseason signing, trading for, and trading away defensive backs. The Lions signed former Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant to replace Darius Slay, who they traded away to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Lions also traded for Daron Harmon the former Patriots’ defensive back. Like I said, the Lions have been very active this offseason in the defensive back area. Many of us expect the Lions to draft Ohio State cornerback Jeffrey Okudah with either their third overall pick or if they trade back, they can still draft him at fifth overall.

Offensive Guard

The Lions would like to help out Matthew Stafford to give him some time to throw the ball to his two stud receivers and his second-year tight end in T.J. Hockenson. The Lions also need to help out Kerryon Johnson, they need to give him some more holes to run through. They signed an offensive tackle this offseason but would like to upgrade their guard position. In this draft, the guard position is a little light. The Lions could get a starter if they want to wait until day two.

Edge Rusher

Detroit needs to get pressure on the quarterback, plain and simple. The Lions only had 1.5 sacks last season coming off the edge. A couple years ago, the Lions signed Trey Flowers, a very talented edge rusher. The Lions need to put some more talent around him and the whole entire defense. Do not be shocked if the Lions go edge rusher early in this draft, they need it.
