The Colts will be an interesting team to watch in the 2020 NFL Draft in just a few days. Here are some bold predictions for the franchise.

General Manager Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts will be an interesting team to watch when the 2020 NFL Draft starts on Thursday. They already made a big splash by trading away their first round pick to San Francisco for DeForest Buckner. They still have two second round picks to be able to maneuver up or down the draft board to get the guys that fit the team.

Chris Ballard has had a good offseason and free agency period as he was able to address many of the pressing needs on the roster. As stated previously, he added a star defensive tackle that he has been trying to add since he took the job in DeForest Buckner. The Colts also upgraded the quarterback position for 2020 with the signing of Philip Rivers. Ballard also took a risk to possibly upgrading the cornerback position by releasing Pierre Desir and replacing him with Xavier Rhodes. Even with those signings, there are some positions that will still need to be addressed in the draft.

Chris Ballard has an exceptional track record in the draft since taking over as General Manager for the Colts in 2017. In 2018 alone, Ballard drafted to bonafide stars in Quenton Nelson and Darius Leonard. He has also drafted key starters Malik Hooker, Marlon Mack, Anthony Walker, Braden Smith, Rock Ya-Sin, and Khari Willis. Key backups and contributors like Grover Stewart, Kemoko Turay, Nyheim Hines, Bobby Okereke were also drafted by Ballard.

Even with a draft history like Chris Ballard’s, the draft can be very unpredictable. That may be especially this year given the circumstances surrounding the draft process due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Here are three bold predictions for the Colts:
