The 2020 NFL Draft has four teams with multiple first-round picks. What would a dream scenario in the opening round by for each of those franchises?

Four teams head into the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft in position to add multiple top-tier prospects to their respective rosters. It is crunch time for Miami Dolphins, who have three first-rounders this year after tearing down the roster in a bold rebuilding plan.

The Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers each have a pair of picks in the opening round. But what would represent a dream first round for those teams? We look at the ideal day-one scenarios for all four franchises.

Miami Dolphins – Getting a 2021 first for the No. 5 pick

It is far from a certainty that the Dolphins will select Tua Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick. Whether they do that will depend on their confidence in his ability to return to 100 per cent after dislocating his hip in his final season with Alabama.

The team that selects Tagovailoa will not be able to get him in the building to assess his hip for some time because of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

There is certainly the possibility that scares off the Dolphins and a host of other teams and leads to a draft-day slide for Tagovailoa.

Justin Herbert is seen by many as the alternative to Tagovailoa for Miami, but going with a quarterback plagued by inconsistency with accuracy and footwork as the future of the franchise may be a tough sell to a fanbase that had to suffer through the Dolphins asset stripping to get to this point.

The Dolphins shouldn’t feel forced into picking between a quarterback with a cloudy injury situation and one who could be considered a huge reach at fifth overall.

If they can move back in a deal with another quarterback-needy team and pick up an additional first for 2021 to improve their odds in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes, then the Dolphins should pull the trigger and focus on building the rest of the roster.
