Las Vegas Raiders – Landing a receiver and cornerback

The Raiders were very busy in free agency, but wide receiver and cornerback are two positions where they are light on quality.

Regardless of whether Marcus Mariota succeeds in unseating Derek Carr for the starting quarterback job, Las Vegas’ signal-caller will need a top-tier wideout to make his life easier.

A dream scenario for the Raiders would involve CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III all making it out of the top 10 and them having their pick of that trio at number 12.

It is unlikely that Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson will be on the board when they pick again at 19.

However, there will be celebrations among Raiders personnel staff on their Zoom chat if general manager Mike Mayock heads back to the board and finds other corners such as LSU’s Kristian Fulton and TCU’s Jeff Gladney still on there.

Should the Raiders find a corner they can pair with Trayvon Mullen after his encouraging rookie season, then Las Vegas’ secondary will have a very imposing look.

The Raiders head to their new home not far away from playoff contention under Jon Gruden. If the board falls in their favor this week, they can begin to dream of emerging from the AFC West in 2020.
