The Lions continue to try and overhaul their roster with the selection of Jeffrey Okudah with the third pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions have long considered one of the more downtrodden franchises in the NFL. They have only reached the playoffs a grand total of three times in the last 20 seasons. They look to flip their fortunes with the selection of Jeffrey Okudah in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The last playoff win the franchise has enjoyed was all the way back in 1991. Bob Quinn was brought in from New England to turn around this franchise and try to replicate the success the Patriots’ have enjoyed.

Quinn has yet to create a true and consistent contender in Detroit. A lot of that has to do with his inconsistent track record in the draft. While he is responsible for drafting solid players such as Taylor Decker, Graham Glasgow, Kenny Golladay, Frank Ragnow, and Kerryon Johnson, none of Quinn’s draft picks have developed into true franchise cornerstones. Some of his selections in the 2019 draft, T.J. Hockenson, Jahlani Tavai, Will Harris, and Amani Aruwariye have shown some potential, but need to continue to develop to be considered good picks.

Quinn has also made his fair share of questionable draft picks as well. Jalen “Teez” Tabor and Michael Roberts are already off the team and struggling to find their footing in the NFL. Other selections like Jarrad Davis have yet to pan out the way the franchise had hoped.

Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia are both squarely on the hot seat and need to nail this draft in order to keep their jobs beyond next season. They hope the selection of Jeffrey Okudah will be a big first step to continue to lead the Detroit Lions.
