2020 NFL Draft: Vikings begin replenishing roster with Justin Jefferson
By Cory Kinnan
The Vikings traded Stefon Diggs to the Bills in exchange for the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. With that pick, they have selected Justin Jefferson
The Minnesota Vikings have made it out of the first round of the playoffs two of the last three seasons, but after free agency their roster looks a bit depleted. The selection of LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson with the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft is a good step in the right direction to replenishing some of those holes.
Stefon Diggs, Linval Joseph, Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, potentially Everson Griffen and more have left the building in Minneapolis, leaving quite a few holes in the roster. They managed to re-sign fullback C.J. Ham, Anthony Harris, and special teamers Britton Colquitt and Dan Bailey, and added even more fresh blood on the open market.
Jefferson joins newcomers Michael Pierce, Tajae Sharpe and others in the purple and gold this offseason. Despite losing their offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski to the Cleveland Browns this offseason, the addition of Jefferson will help to soften the blow.
With the trade of Diggs, the Vikes were given the luxury to add Jefferson to their roster. To help the fans of the Vikings to feel better, the purple and gold will be back on the clock in three more selection, where their original pick is slotted. After Jefferson who will general manager Rick Spielman select next?
Celebrate for a short while Vikes’ fans, Minnesota will be back up on the clock here shortly. Jefferson first, who is next?
