With the 15th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, John Elway and the Denver Broncos select Jerry Jeudy and get Drew Lock a new toy.

After many failed attempts, it seems as though John Elway and the Denver Broncos may have finally found their franchise quarterback after the selection of Drew Lock last year. Lock started the last five games while leading the Broncos to an impressive 4-1 record in his starts. Lock still does have some development to do so it makes sense that Denver’s plan in the 2020 NFL Draft is to build the offense around Lock. They do that here taking Jerry Jeudy.

John Elway has had a very up and down track record in the draft since taking over as the General Manager for the Broncos in 2011. He is responsible for selecting key players like Von Miller, Derek Wolfe, Sylvester Williams, Justin Simmons, Bradley Chubb, and Courtland Sutton. Elway has also experienced his fair share of bad picks in the draft as well with Rahim Moore, Brock Osweiler, Montee Ball, Cody Latimer, and Shane Ray unable to live up to their draft status.

In last year’s draft, however, Elway was able to add three to four starters and key contributors. The aforementioned Drew Lock looks like a steal in the second round. Dalton Risner and Dre’Mont Jones both had the look of solid, consistent contributors as rookies. Noah Fant still needs some development, but he did show flashes of why Elway selected him in the first round last year.

Next. One last mock draft. dark

John Elway will hope the early success from last year carries over to this year with the selection of Jeudy.
