Round 4, Pick 117 – Hunter Bryant, TE, Washington

There has been plenty of noise about the 49ers adding a second tight end to lighten George Kittle’s workload.

With Garrett Celek calling it a career, the 49ers have Ross Dwelley – who proved a valuable and versatile backup when Kittle and fullback Kyle Juszczyk were hurt in 2019 – and Daniel Helm behind their All-Pro starter.

Dwelley should stick on the roster but it is obvious the Niners need another legitimate option at the position.

Bryant may not provide much help in the blocking game, but he projects well as a big-play move tight end, having averaged 16.4 yards per reception in his career with the Huskies.

Round 5, Pick 156 – McTelvin Agim, DL, Arkansas

The 49ers have been bullish about their depth on the defensive line in the wake of the DeForest Buckner trade that netted the 13th pick.

In addition to 1-technqiue D.J. Jones, the likes of Solomon Thomas, Kentavius Street and Jullian Taylor will all be expected to step up in the wake of Buckner’s departure.

It is smart to add another player to compete on the defensive interior, though, and Agim possesses the length and quickness to potentially develop into a starting 3-technique.

On day three, the 49ers would be wise to take a chance on a raw, high-ceiling prospect who was reasonably productive in the SEC with 31 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks in four seasons.
