Round 6, Pick 210 – Quez Watkins, WR, Southern Miss

A lack of depth at receiver following Emmanuel Sanders‘ departure in free agency makes doubling up at wide receiver a legitimate possibility for the 49ers.

Watkins would offer the 49ers more speed at the position, having run the 40 in 4.35 seconds, and has decent size at 6’0″ and 185 pounds.

The level of competition in Conference USA may be a concern but Watkins’ production – he had 1,178 receiving yards and six touchdowns and averaged 18.4 yards per reception in 2019 – would be tough ignore at this late stage in the draft.

Round 7, Pick 217 – Parnell Motley, CB, Oklahoma

Further depth at corner comes in the form of Motley, who stands as one of the more underappreciated secondary players in the class despite some excellent seasons at Oklahoma.

Motley has playmaking ability, as evidenced by his 33 pass deflections and six interceptions with the Sooners and typically saved his best for the bigger games. He is a potential steal in the later rounds.

Round, Pick 245 – Michael Onwenu, G, Michigan

The Niners appear to have significant faith in Daniel Brunskill to take over at right guard after the release of Mike Person. San Francisco also signed Tom Compton in free agency to compete on the interior of the line.

Still, offensive line is always worth addressing in the draft and Onwenu, who interviewed with the 49ers according to Justin Melo of The Draft Wire, could compete for a backup role as a rookie.
