Dolphins turn to defensive side of ball with Noah Igbinoghene
The Dolphins turn to the defensive side of the ball for their third pick, selecting Auburn cornerback Noah Igbinoghene with the 30th pick in the draft
The Miami Dolphins have expedited their rebuilding by adding to their roster in free agency. On offense, the Dolphins have added Jordan Howard, Ereck Flowers, and Ted Karras. On the defensive side of the ball, Miami brought in Kyle Van Noy, Shaq Lawson, Emmanuel Ogbah, Elandon Roberts, Clayton Fejeledem, and Byron Jones. They now add Noah Igbinoghene with the 30th pick in the draft.
The Dolphins are looking to improve on last year’s draft where the only pick that seems to be panning out is interior defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, who has emerged as a great player and team leader. After already picking earlier tonight, the Dolphins selected Igbinoghene from Auburn. He is someone that they hope to contribute for years to come.
The Dolphins have all of this draft capital due to a flurry of trades made last off-season. Miami sent away offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick for a bundle that included three first round picks and a second round pick. The Dolphins also have an extra second round pick because of a trade back last year with the New Orleans Saints. After already picking earlier in the night, the team, led by Chris Grier and Brian Flores, decided that (PLAYER) would be a good addition to a rookie class that is likely to be very large.
Igbinoghene joins a team with young playmakers on both sides of the ball. Some of those players include DeVante Parker, Mike Gesicki, Jerome Baker, Xavien Howard, and Christian Wilkins, along with Tua Tagovailoa and Austin Jackson. Brian Flores has a boatload of young talent to work with, and the Dolphins are poised to become one of the fastest rebuilds this league has ever seen.
