Winners: Denver Broncos

Two drafts ago, in 2018, the Denver Broncos left the first round with Bradley Chubb, while five other teams took quarterbacks. On the roster, Denver had an aging defense, Case Keenum, no offensive line, limited weapons, and Vance Joseph as head coach. Fast forward to today, the Broncos have a promising young quarterback, two young talented receivers, a promising tight end, a revamped offensive line, three talented running backs, a rejuvenated defense, and Vic Fangio coaching. Not to mention, they have four picks on day two of an incredibly deep 2020 NFL draft.

After Alabama’s Henry Ruggs went to the Las Vegas Raiders at pick twelve, the Denver Broncos had their pick of wide receivers to choose from. Throughout the process, it was rumored that the Broncos were rumored to be willing to trade up for one of the premier receivers in the draft. With Ruggs going at twelve, the Broncos were able to sit back and take Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy.

Jeudy brings even more to the revamped Denver offense. The Broncos now have a weaponry for their young quarterback Drew Lock that includes Melvin Gordon, Phillip Lindsay, Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, and now Jeudy. The AFC West division may be owned by Patrick Mahomes and the Super Bowl champion Chiefs, but with the NFL adding an extra playoff team in each conference, the Denver Broncos may be able to sneak into 2020 postseason play.
