Dallas Cowboys

With Travis Frederick retiring for health issues, the Dallas Cowboys have a hole at center. While they do not have a starter in place, there is plenty of competition for the position. Connor McGovern and Joe Looney are already on the roster, and the team selected former Wisconsin Badgers center Tyler Biadasz in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft. With all these bodies competing for the same job, why bring in another veteran in Justin Britt.

Justin Britt brings versatility, because he does not have a typical center body. He is rather tall at 6-6, 315 pounds. With starting left guard Connor Williams coming off of ACL surgery, the Cowboys could move on from Williams and start Britt at guard, while Looney and McGovern compete for the starting center job. The Cowboys believe that they are in a Super Bowl window and have very important contract extensions coming up. Getting a starting caliber interior offensive lineman this late in the off-season would be absolutely great for their postseason aspirations.

One of the greatest factors for signing Britt would be Tyler Biadasz, the fourth round pick from Wisconsin. If the Cowboys sign Britt and he starts 2020, it allows Biadasz to do two things: Spend a season learning from Britt and spending another full year recovering from that nasty shoulder injury that affected his play so much in 2019.
