2021 NFL Draft: Jamie Newman set to ignite Bulldogs offense
By Cory Kinnan
Closing the book on Newman
Point blank, Jamie Newman has the arm talent to not only succeed in the SEC, but dominate. If his pairing with Monken and the Bulldogs comes to full fruition, he may not only take a trip to New York City for the Heisman Ceremony, but could be a top-32 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
This writer already has Newman graded higher than the likes of Jordan Love, who was selected in the first round by the Green Bay Packers last week, as he now looks to hone in on his skill set and take his game to the next level. He has never had weapons such as George Pickens and Zamir White throughout his collegiate career, but he must improve his accuracy down the field in order to utilize them.
One cannot win with arm talent alone, but with accuracy as well. Newman can push the ball into any window, but only if he learns how to anticipate his throws and hit that window with consistency.
The entire city of Athens and state of Georgia need to readjust their eyes after watching Fromm three years in a row. Newman will bring a fresh presence, more mobility and athleticism, and a significantly stronger arm as the Bulldogs not only look to stay competitive, but take a leap back into the playoffs in 2020.
