Fantasy Football: 5 2020 NFL Draft picks who can become immediate stars
Reagor may not have been the receiver many expected the Eagles to take in the first round, but there is no question he has the skill set to thrive with Carson Wentz throwing him the ball.
The former TCU receiver was hamstrung by the inaccuracy of freshman quarterback Max Duggan in his final collegiate season. Reagor finished 2019 with 43 catches for 611 yards and five touchdowns, a huge drop-off from the 72 balls he caught for 1,061 yards and nine scores in 2018.
However, with a quarterback who has displayed remarkable accuracy so far in his pro career, there is tremendous potential for Reagor to explode as a rookie.
Reagor excels at getting open downfield, with his excellent stop-start quickness making him a threat on double moves. He has the body control to make magnificent adjustments at the catch point and has the elusiveness to pick up extra yardage after the catch.
The problem is the amount of options in the wide receiver room in Philadelphia. Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson are curiously still on the team, along with last year’s second-round pick J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and 2019’s late-season standout Greg Ward. Marquise Goodwin, John Hightower and Quez Watkins were also added to the mix during the 2020 NFL Draft.
Tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert figure to again command a high-target share, but Reagor is clearly the most talented player among the wideouts. That talent should eventually win out and see Reagor become a trusted weapon for Wentz. When that happens, his big-play upside will make Reagor a valuable fantasy football commodity.
