Pick Analysis. Wisconsin. 5. player. 46. Scouting Report. RB. Jonathan Taylor

Taylor will split carries with Marlon Mack in Indianapolis but, with Mack entering the final year of his contract, the greater share appears more likely to go to the former Wisconsin Badger.

Mack may see more work in the passing game, but it is Taylor who has the superior skill set to be the workhorse in the backfield who can take the pressure off veteran quarterback Philip Rivers.

He unquestionably has the thump to run power behind an offensive line featuring All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson and boasts the decisiveness to excel on zone runs.

Taylor was seventh in the NCAA in average yards after contact in 2019 with 3.9. His physicality and elusiveness should allow him to continue to rip off big gains in the NFL.

It is fair to expect the bulk of the goal-line work to also go to Taylor, who scored a remarkable 21 touchdowns in his final season with Wisconsin.

His initial value in PPR fantasy football leagues may be debatable but in standard-scoring leagues Taylor should deliver results right off the bat. Likely to be available in the back half of drafts, Taylor is a potential steal for those willing to bet on him maintaining his incredible college form in the pros.
