Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Washington Redskins

After drafting Gandy-Golden and running back-wide receiver hybrid Antonio Gibson, there is reason for some intrigue about the Redskins’ passing attack.

Whether that intrigue translates into production and results on the field hinges on the development of quarterback Dwayne Haskins, whose rookie season can at best be described as up and down.

Yet if Haskins does make strides under the leadership of new head coach Ron Rivera then, after 2019 standout Terry McLaurin, Gandy-Golden is the receiver who stands to benefit most.

His skill set is the most diverse of any wideout on the Washington roster. At 6’4″ and 223 pounds, Golden demonstrated promise as a route-runner in his time at Liberty. He boasts a magnificent catch radius and has the ability to high-point the ball and adjust to inaccurate throws.

It is what he can do after the catch that is most tantalizing about Gandy-Golden, who excels at running for extra yardage and averaged 17.7 yards per reception in the 2019 season.

Rivera will need to have faith to put the ball in Haskins’ hands for Gandy-Golden to have the chance to do similar in the NFL. The Redskins have made no noises to suggest they do not have that belief in the former Buckeye and, while it may take some time for everything to come together for this young offense, Gandy-Golden has the potential to produce in a spectacular fashion if and when it does.

Receivers are likely to fly off the boards early in rookie drafts and, as a less-heralded name, Gandy-Golden could be a potential dynasty steal for those willing to back the Redskins to turn things around under Rivera.
