The Broncos signed several undrafted free agents after the 2020 NFL Draft. Find out the three undrafted rookies who could make the team!
With the 2020 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, the Denver Broncos are looking forward to getting their offseason program underway. After signing several undrafted free agents, or UDFAs, we look at three of the undrafted players that could end up being on the opening day roster.
The Denver Broncos had quite the haul in the NFL Draft. After drafting Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and Penn State wide receiver K.J. Hamler with their first and second-round picks, respectively, the Broncos did quite a good job filling other necessary holes in their roster.
John Elway and head coach Vic Fangio went on to draft a cornerback, two offensive linemen including a possible starting center, a tight end, another wide receiver, a defensive lineman, an edge rusher, and a linebacker that fits into Fangio’s system. Needless to say, the team definitely utilized all of their draft picks in order to bolster their 7-9 squad from a year ago.
At the end of the draft, however, the team was still looking to add talent and they signed several players that went undrafted. Often times, undrafted players find it relatively difficult to stick on an NFL roster past the preseason. The Broncos have made a name in the NFL by giving undrafted free agents an opportunity to shine. Names like Chris Harris, Jr., C.J. Anderson, Phillip Lindsay, Shaq Barrett, and even Broncos Ring of Famer Rod Smith all had success in Denver as undrafted players.
