3 reasons Taulia Tagovailoa to Maryland Football was the right move

After just one year with the Alabama Crimson Tide, quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa decided to take his talents to the Maryland Football program.
With the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins selected Tua Tagovailoa, quarterback, Alabama. This was not the only quarterback the Crimson Tide lost this offseason, nor was it the only Tagovailoa they lost either as Taulia Tagovailoa decided to take his talents to the Big Ten in hopes of improving the Maryland Football program.
Last year, the Terrapins landed Virginia Tech transfer quarterback Josh Jackson, but he has failed to hold down the starting job as he and Tyrrell Pigrome flip-flopped under center in 2019. As Mike Locksley, now in his second year as the head coach of the Terrapins, looks to take his team to a new level, a former four-star and Alabama recruit may just be the man for the task.
Taulia was expected to visit and entertain other offers, such as Florida International and Florida Atlantic, two schools close to Tua in Miami, and Hawai’i if he had chosen to return home. At the end of the day, Tagovailoa heads to the east coast with a great chance to win the starting job and compete in the Big Ten.
Here are three reasons why Taulia Tagovailoa made the right choice in choosing Maryland over FAU, FIU, and Hawai’i.
