3 reasons Taulia Tagovailoa to Maryland Football was the right move

He remains in Power Five competition
Sure, Taulia Tagovailoa could have gone to a school closer to home, either in South Beach with his brother or back to Hawai’i. Doing so, however, would have forced the former Crimson Tide quarterback to play outside of a power five conference (power five conferences being the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and PAC 12).

By joining Mike Locksley and the Maryland football program, Tagovailoa will get to compete with the likes of Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State on a yearly basis. Since joining the Big Ten, Maryland has struggled to be competitive in the conference, this past year losing to these four teams listed above by a total of 189-37.
Maryland, however, usually has talent at the skill position, sending offensive players such as D.J. Moore and Anthony McFarland to the NFL over the past three years. Taulia has the weapons to succeed at the University of Maryland as they have a talented wide receiver corp, led by the likes of Carlos Carriere, Dontay Demus Jr., and Brian Cobbs.
More so than the talent on their roster is the talent he will be playing. Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State have been powerhouses at sending talent to the NFL Draft, so if Tagovailoa can succeed against them, then he will see his draft stock rise as a result.
