1. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City will somehow be an even scarier proposition for opponents in 2020.

Super Bowl LIV MVP Patrick Mahomes will have much the same receiving weapons at his disposal, with Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson returning to join Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman and Travis Kelce among the pass catchers.

Mahomes will also have a dynamic new weapon at his disposal, the Chiefs having drafted running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the final pick of the first round.

Edwards-Helaire should fill the void left by LeSean McCoy‘s exit and provide the perfect complement to Damien Williams in the backfield.

With his blend of size, power and elusiveness, Edwards-Helaire has the skill set to become the lead back for the Chiefs. His receiving upside gives Mahomes an underneath target who should be considered a luxury for the league’s most devastating quarterback.

The Chiefs took a chance on an athletic freak at linebacker in Willie Gay Jr. with their second-round pick. If he can avoid off-field issues, Gay could prove an extremely valuable addition to a front seven led by game-wreckers Chris Jones and Frank Clark.

With Tyrann Mathieu leading a young and underrated secondary, the Chiefs’ weaknesses are few, and, in Mahomes, they have the most crucial advantage in the NFL. As long as he is at his best, it is tough to see any team knocking the Chiefs off their perch as reigning Super Bowl champs.
