2020 NFL Draft fourth rounder Antonio Gandy-Golden is ready to get to work with the Redskins

The coronavirus has shut down sports all over the country, and even forced the 2020 NFL Draft to be done virtually last month. Not only did it affect players who were attempting to do team visits and their pro days, but it also impacted one prospect even more directly as Liberty wide receiver and 2020 NFL Draft fourth round pick of the Washington Redskins Antonio Gandy-Golden actually fought the sickness.

While he released a statement yesterday, Gandy-Golden apparently had COVID-19 all throughout the pre-draft process and did not make it public until after the event. This may have been strategically done as not to affect his draft stock.

However, the Washington wide receiver is now completely healthy and ready to roll as the NFL is gearing up to get back to work. Given the lack of depth at the wide receiver position in Washington, Gandy-Golden has a chance to contribute right away.

Not only is everyone relieved to hear that Gandy-Golden is now 100 percent healthy, but new head coach in Washington Ron Rivera has to be overjoyed to have him ready to go for camp. With Terry McLaurin as the only mainstay at the wide receiver position, Gandy-Golden will compete with Kelvin Harmon as the number two guy in Washington.

A young team with a young quarterback in Dwayne Haskins, the Redskins will look to get the youth on their roster ready to go by week one. Having Gandy-Golden back this early despite having the Coronavirus is a big win for both Haskins and the team as a whole.
