Carolina Panthers

Do the Panthers actually think Teddy Bridgewater is the new franchise quarterback in Charlotte? Or do they think he is a great placeholder while they search for their new face of the franchise in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Cam Newton was as electric as they came in terms of someone to plaster all over your stadium, programs, jerseys to sell, etc. He is now gone, and the Panthers no longer have that player who will help them sell tickets. Sure Christian McCaffrey is a bonafide stud and one of the best running backs in the league, but at the end of the day he is just that: a running back.

This does not in any way take away from the journey that Bridgewater has had to take to finally land his bank breaking contract, but does new head coach Matt Rhule view him as the new top dog deep into the future? This writer’s guess is no, especially if comparing him against the man who could have gone first overall had he been able to declare for the draft as a true freshman.

Trevor Lawrence sells tickets, he greatly improves quarterback play, and he is a great young franchise quarterback for a first year head coach to build his team around. Rhule must be drooling at the thought of Lawrence in the Carolina blue, black, and silver.
