2020 NFL Draft rookies like Jeffrey Okudah are wasting no time getting to work

The Detroit Lions traded away their Pro Bowl cornerback in Darius Slay this offseason to the Philadelphia Eagles. They then addressed that hole created by Slay’s departure by selecting Ohio State cornerback Jeffrey Okudah with the third overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Okudah has been deemed by some as the best cornerback prospect of the decade, over the likes of Jalen Ramsey. As he prepares to become the next in a line of Buckeye first round cornerbacks in the last five years with Marshon Lattimore, Gareon Conley, Denzel Ward, and teammate Damon Arnette, Okudah is wasting no time in his training.

Over Twitter last week, future Hall of Fame wide receiver Chad Ochocinco reached out to Okudah and stated he would love to train with him. Ochocinco joked that he would even trespass into the Lions’ facility to make this happen. The trespassing is not necessary as Okudah has accepted the invitation as the two will get to work in Miami soon.

Training with a wide receiver, especially one with the route running savvy that Ochocinco had, is a great way for Okudah to get his game ready for the next level. Already known for his fluid hips and quick feet, Ochocinco will soon put those traits of Okudah’s to the test.
