Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard teasing big news
By Cory Kinnan
We are all puzzled as Chuba Hubbard teases an announcement
Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard is coming off of a fantastic season with the Cowboys, where he rushed his way into a handful of Heisman votes. While it may have been a bit shocking at the time, Hubbard decided to return to school for this redshirt junior year and bypass the 2020 NFL Draft.
However, as the coronavirus has affected the NFL Draft, football, and sports in general, many wondered how it would impact a player’s thinking heading into the 2020 season. There is no guarantee a football season will happen, even as teams and leagues begin to ramp up towards action.
This is all just context building up to the next point: Hubbard has now teased some sort of big announcement that is supposed to happen in the coming weeks. In all honesty, this announcement could be absolutely nothing, but how many players tweet out something like this for their decision to buy a new pair of shoes?
Some may wonder if Hubbard is deciding to transfer schools, but if this were the case, he would have done so a long time ago, and he now does not have weeks to make a decision as training camps are going to start ramping up.
This leaves some, including this writer, to wonder whether or not Hubbard is pondering a decision to enter the Supplemental Draft and head for the NFL. Could this announcement be absolutely nothing? Sure. But the timing and emphasis of this announcement is a cause for piqued interest.
