Scouting Report Part II

Grip Strength/Sustain: Strong, and powerful hands, makes defenders feel ‘em.  once he’s got ahold of you there’s a very slim chance you’re getting away. An absolute brick wall, there is no getting past him. The dude can frame a block, his ability to stay in front and square with his opponent is uncanny. (9.5/10)

Motor: Puts out equal effort in both the run and pass. Has the finishers mentality, not going to take it easy on anybody. Plays angry, everything he does is done with intent. There are times where he doesn’t always go to the whistle. (8.5/10)

IQ: Does a good job picking up stunts and blitzes. Good understanding of the protections and where he needs to point his attention, very little mental hiccups. In space/on screens does a good job looking inside–out. He has elite instincts, it’s as though he has a sixth-sense for identifying pressure. (9/10)

Next. 5 candidates to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. dark

Run Block: Whether you’re a power or zone team, Sewell is plug-n-play. A zone-scheme is perhaps best if you want to maximize his athleticism, but using him as a puller in a power scheme could be beneficial as well. He’s going to move bodies, strong from head-to-toe. Gets to the 2nd level nicely, gets his chip then quickly gets to his man on the next level. (9/10)

Overall Grade: 9.05

Round Grade: Top-10 Pick
