Raiders third rounder Lynn Bowden detained as Youngstown home searched

Lynn Bowden Jr. is off to a weird start in the NFL and with the Raiders
This article must be prefaced by saying that third round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders Lynn Bowden Jr. was not arrested, and is not in any sort of legal jeopardy at this point. However, today in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio, a house which his mother says is his grandmother’s was searched by the DEA.
As they searched the house, Bowden was detained on the front porch, as the search apparently found guns in the house. Again, Bowden’s mother stated the guns were his grandmother’s, a woman who had no suspicion of any sort of criminal activity.
It appears this DEA search may have been a bit over the top, as no charges or arrests were made. Unfortunately the former Kentucky Wildcat has found himself right in the middle of the search nonetheless and now has to see his name in the news.
The Raiders have released a statement saying they are aware of the situation and have no further comment at the time. A third rounder in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Raiders seemingly have big plans to use Bowden as a chess piece in their offense.
At Kentucky, Bowden filled in at quarterback when needed, lined up at running back, and played his natural position of wide receiver as well. Given his number assignment of 33, it seems that the Raiders see Bowden more as a running back at the professional level.
While this is not the start the Raiders nor Bowden envisioned for the start of his professional career, this appears to be just a bump in the road long term. Hopefully having the ability to put this behind him, Bowden looks to make a splash in Las Vegas in 2020.
