These 2020 NFL Draft first rounders may not live up to the hype

Last year, players like fourth overall pick Clelin Ferrell failed to step up and produce to the level of their required draft slot (Ferrell was outshined by fourth rounder Maxx Crosby with the now Las Vegas Raiders). As we ramp back up towards football, there will be a handful of 2020 NFL Draft first rounders who will land in the same boat as Ferrell.

Some players overhyped based on where they were drafted, the public consensus on them, and how they actually fared on the field. Some will be considered overhyped based on the little faith this writer has in his coordinator’s ability to deploy him correctly.

There will always be players year in and year out who do not live up to the hype placed onto them by outside forces. There will always be elements of circumstance outside of the player’s control, which could cause them a set back or handcuff their potential as these young stars transition from the collegiate level to the professional level.

Here are three 2020 NFL Draft first round draft picks who may have too much to overcome in their rookie season to live up to the hype they have received.
