The Jamal Adams trade rumors won’t stop as a divorce with the Jets is inevitable

While the 2017 NFL Draft was only three years ago, it seems like an eternity, especially when considering how the New York Jets and their star free safety Jamal Adams have been bickering like a couple who has been married for 40 years. Now, it seems like the two sides seem headed straight for a divorce as the Jamal Adams trade rumors are now picking back up.

The Jets made the investment of a third round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft when they selected California safety Ashtyn Davis. Marcus Maye is still on the roster in the Big Apple, and he has been a consistent force for the Jets over the first three of his career.

It may look like the Jets are set at the safety position, even if Adams were to move on to another team this offseason. However, as the NFL is shifting to a pass-heavy league, the more the merrier. Additionally, Davis nor Maye are well-equipped to handle some of the responsibilities that Adams covers for the Jets.

Given Adams’ ability to stack the box, the Jets may need to invest in a safety who can be a force against the run. As the nickel is becoming more of a norm, they could then stick Maye over the top, Davis as the big nickel, and then this new safety in the strong role.

Here are three safeties well-equipped to fill in the cracks in the Big Apple are forced to part ways with Adams.
