What does Tua bring to Miami in 2020?

The second half of Miami’s schedule is light in terms of defenses and pass rushers. By that time, the team will have recovered from lost practice time. In a perfect world where Tua’s first game is against the Arizona Cardinals, he can hit the ground running. He also has a bye week sandwiched between two games against the New York Jets, who may have already quit on the season by then.

The offense should not be hard for Tua to pick up quickly. Brian Flores and Chan Gailey are devising an offense very similar to the Alabama Crimson Tide offense. There will be a flurry of RPO’s in this “horizontal spread”. Part of the reason that Flores picked Gailey to be his offensive coordinator is because he believes that his system would be easier for a young quarterback to pick up.

One thing that is a guarantee with this young man is that he will work tirelessly to get back. According to multiple sources, he is doing great so far in his recovery. Tagovailoa has been working with Dr. Kevin Wilk, who has worked with legendary athletes such as Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, and Derek Jeter. According to Wilk, “You can barely talk to him when he’s at the clinic. He’s either doing exercises or his face is buried in the iPad, learning the [offensive] system”. The praise for Tua is high, and the results will show on the field.

When he first steps on the field, do not be surprised if he hits the ground running. The team has a great staff around him and exciting playmakers to ease him into the game. Tua Tagovailoa has all the makings to be the star that this franchise has been craving for over two decades.
