Pooka Williams, Kansas

As we get a bit deeper into the 2021 NFL Draft class, another potential replacement for Raheem Mostert for the 49ers is Kansas running back Pooka Williams. While he may be small in stature at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, Williams is an explosive running back who has no problem running between the big boys in the trenches.

Entering his junior season under Les Miles with the Jayhawks, Williams has rushed for over 1,000 yards in both years of his eligibility to this point, and looks to make it three straight in 2020. Over the past two seasons, Williams has rushed for a total of 2,186 yards, averaging six yards per carry and scoring ten touchdowns. He has also caught a total of 60 passes out of the backfield for a total of 503 yards and an additional four scores.

Given his speed and agility, Williams would fit the same mold of running style as that of Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, and Matt Breida in San Francisco. With two highly productive seasons at the collegiate level to this point in his career, the next move for Williams after his junior season could be with Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers.
