Christian Barmore 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Games Watched: ’19 Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn

Get-Off: Creates problems with his explosiveness off the snap, can go from being head up on the guard to the opposite A-gap in a blink of an eye. Snap anticipation isn’t consistent, there are times where he’s the last guy off the one. (11/15)

Pass-Rush: Pocket mover, he may not get to the quarterback every play, but he’s getting him off his spot. Consistently forcing the quarterback out of the pocket and stopping him from stepping up. (13/15)

Run Defense: He does fire out a bit high and can get himself out leveraged against some of the squattier interior linemen. Even with high pads, he is still a tough S.O.B. to move off his spot. Scheme versatile, however, he may be best suited for a 2-gap system because of his anchor. (11/15)

Power/Strength: This is one powerful dude. From head-to-toe, the man doesn’t have a weak muscle in his body. Can generate power even from the most unorthodox positions. Pushes double teams around. (14.5/15)

Lateral Mobility: He can put his foot in the ground and turn the corner, much more agile mover than I anticipated. Dangerous on stunts, take an excellent track to the quarterback. Extremely springy, can bounce between gaps. (8.5/10)

Finish/Tackle: You run into this man in the LOS and you’re getting stopped in your tracks, can hold ball-carriers with one arm. Has issues tackling outside of his frame. (7/10)

Motor: Was brought in mostly in passing situations so he came in with a full tank, and he would empty that thing every time on the field. High effort player, he never quits on a play. (9/10)

Hand Technique: Still very raw in this category, again, saw a limited amount of reps in 2019; with more time in the field hopefully he can gain some nuance. HAS to develop some counters, can’t rely on his power to win every time. Pinches the shoulder well. As the season went on, he began to get more active with his hands. (7/10)
