Tank for Trevor Lawrence update as NFL training camps are underway

The Bears may struggle early on the offensive side of the ball
While the Chicago Bears have a strong defense led by All-Pro pass rusher Khalil Mack, their offense has been a massive disappointment. A huge reason for the failures on the offensive side of the football is the shortcomings of former second-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Mitchell Trubisky.
Trubisky had a promising sophomore season, but an absolute abysmal 2019 year, leading to the Bears declining his fifth-year option after this season. The Bears traded with the Jaguars, giving up a fourth-round pick, for journeyman quarterback Nick Foles. Now the Bears have a quarterback competition as the 2020 season is set to begin.
Sure, Foles has won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, he has proven he cannot handle the load of a full season as a starting quarterback. Regardless of who is starting for the Bears this season, their offense is not poised to make a huge leap from a year ago.
Even with a great defense, a team cannot win games if they cannot score any points. A lack of points equals a lack of wins, and a lack of wins puts the Bears in competition to land Lawrence.
