The Dolphins need Bateman’s consistency on their roster

Perhaps one of the most inconsistent wide receiver corps, the Miami Dolphins may look to address that issue early in the 2021 NFL Draft. This past April they got their quarterback, and now the Dolphins will look to get Tua Tagovailoa young, consistent weapons. With still a ton of ammunition left over from the Laremy Tunsil trade, the Dolphins are once again in a prime position to add elite talent via the draft.

Outside of Devante Parker, the Dolphins have struggled to find a second option, trying to depend on undrafted free agent Preston Williams (coming off of a season-ending injury), and speedsters Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson (who has just opted out of the 2020 season). Even Parker has yet to show consistency, finally putting it together just a year ago after landing in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The 6-2 and 210 pound Bateman would certainly fit the bill for both Tagovailoa and the Dolphins, showing the ability to win both over the top and underneath with his route running. As they continue to improve their roster throughout their rebuild under head coach Brian Flores, the dynamic duo of Tagovailoa and Bateman could be a fun one deep into the future for Miami.
