The Packers must correct their mistake from a year ago

There was not a worse overall draft this past April than the Green Bay Packers. Now as the team is reporting to training camp, both quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams have expressed their frustration in the refusal to upgrade the receiving corps. In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Packers cannot afford to make that mistake once again.

With his time dwindling in Green Bay, and respectively their championship window, the Packers must capitalize on the remaining time they have left with their future Hall of Fame quarterback in Rodgers. Outside of Adams, the Packers failed to find a valuable passing attack until Allen Lazard came around late in the season for them.

The likes of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jake Kumerow, and Geronimo Allison have proven to be inconsistent and unreliable on a full-time basis in Green Bay. Bringing the Minnesota man to Wisconsin would be a big add for the Packers both immediately and in the future when Jordan Love takes over the reins.

After flushing, the majority of their draft picks down the drain in 2019, landing Bateman in the 2021 NFL Draft would give the Packers a positive piece to build their foundation upon.
