Will these Lions players show their worth in 2021, or will they fall short again?

After a promising 6-10 first season under Matt Patricia, the Detroit Lions finished with the third-worst record at 3-12-1. They finished below average in offense and way below average on defense. Many football fans were calling for Patricia’s head.

Die-hard Detroit fans, though, still believe. Under new management (Martha Ford stepped down late-June and is succeeded by her daughter Sheila Hamp), and with a healthy hero under center in quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Lions are in desperate need for some hope. Not only does the team need hope, but so do some players.

After a solid 2020 NFL Draft, the Lions find themselves in position to rebound nicely with a healthy Stafford. Adding the likes of cornerback Jeffrey Okudah, Georgia running back D’Andre Swift, Notre Dame edge rusher Julian Okwara and more to their roster, the Lions have added a great infusion of youth.

The 2020 NFL Draft showed they weren’t afraid of replacing their starters. Here are three Lions players that need make or break seasons in order to keep their playing hopes alive.
