Browns hold breath as second rounder Grant Delpit carted off
By Cory Kinnan
The Browns hope for the best as they await the results of a Grant Delpit injury
The Cleveland Browns entered the 2020 training camp with high hopes after a regime change saw Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski take over the reins. However, throughout training camp they have had nothing but bad luck with the injury bug, with the latest victim being 2020 NFL Draft second round pick Grant Delpit.
It all started with center J.C. Tretter starting the season on the sideline after a minor knee injury, one that has forced fifth rounder Nick Harris into the fire to start camp. Now, one of the more exciting additions in the 2020 draft was carted off during today’s practice, as the Browns fear for the worst with a suspected achilles injury.

It is hard to imagine an achilles injury that does not turn out to be a serious one, which is horrible news for both Delpit and the Browns. With a chance to be a Week 1 starter at the back end of the defense for new defensive coordinator Joe Woods, the Browns were banking on Delpit to fill a hole on their roster right away.
One would think Delpit will be out for the season if it is the achilles as feared. The Browns will now ride out with veterans Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo to man their safety group as Delpit has gone down. Second-year free safety Sheldrick Redwine will now look to take a leap forward for the Browns as well in 2020.
Injuries are a part of the game, but a horrible part nonetheless. Nothing but the best to Delpit as he hopes for good news.
