Fantasy Rookie Report: NFL first year players impacted most in preseason
Stock Up
Zack Moss
Zack Moss had an incredibly productive college career, rushing for over 4000 yards in his time at Utah. So, when the Buffalo Bills selected him in the third round of the NFL Draft, it looked like a great fit. He’ll slot into the early-down role vacated by Frank Gore, with Devin Singletary operating as the primary pass-catcher out of the backfield.
According to Joe Buscaglia of the Athletic, though, Moss is “going to be a factor on passing downs”. When you combine that with Josh Allen’s comments that he wants to run less, Moss could find himself in an ideal situation if he’s able to carve out opportunities in the red zone.
Bryan Edwards
Bryan Edwards flew under the radar as a prospect, after an unfortunately-timed knee injury caused him to miss the Senior Bowl before a broken foot put an end to his Combine plans. It didn’t deter the Las Vegas Raiders, though, who took Edwards in the third round. The absence of workout numbers or all-star games has helped make Edwards one of the top fantasy sleepers around.
The buzz through training camp is that he’s building good chemistry with Derek Carr and could even be playing his way into a week one starting position. Hunter Renfrow impressed last season and Henry Ruggs was a first-round pick, but Edwards has the size to line up outside and that could separate him from the competition.
