2021 NFL Draft prospects will be aplenty in Clemson vs. Wake Forest

The 2020 college football season is now underway! At first we saw only FCS teams taking to the turf, however Power Five conferences are now underway as well. With the 2021 NFL Draft on the horizon, Clemson vs. Wake Forest will feature a large handful of prospects with their NFL stock on the line.

However, we all know about the big named prospects for the Clemson Tigers led by the presumed top pick in 2021 in quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Clemson running back Travis Etienne is another name in high regard in the NFL Draft community who will get another shot to raise his draft stock even higher as the Tigers look to take on the Demon Deacons.

While Clemson has been a hot bed for NFL talent since Dabo Swinney took over the program, Wake Forest has had a bit of success as well. A year ago, left tackle Justin Herron was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round, while nickel cornerback Essang Bassey made the final roster of the Denver Broncos after signing as an undrafted free agent.

Wake Forest has one legitimate prospect this season in edge rusher Carlos Basham, who opted to return to school in 2020 despite having NFL Draft hype a year ago. Given his alignment versatility along the defensive line, Basham is a serious contender to land in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft as he enters his last year of eligibility.

Outside of the big names set to take the field in the Clemson vs. Wake Forest matchup, who are some of the under-the-radar guys to keep a close eye on?
