2021 NFL Draft: 4 Under-the-radar prospects in Clemson vs. Wake Forest
By Cory Kinnan
Braden Galloway, TE, Clemson
There will be teams who will question the off-the-field issues of Clemson tight end Braden Galloway, but there is no question he has the talent to be a high-profile pass catcher when he is on the field. That is the concern, however: Galloway has played in just a total of four games through the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Clemson.
He was hit with a one-year suspension after violating the NCAA’s drug policy, but came back just in time to play in the National Championship game for the Tigers. While Clemson was unseated by the LSU Tigers in that game, Galloway proved his on-field talent was still widely apparent, racking up a huge catch-and-run and finishing the game with two catches for 60 yards.
It is impossible to project a football player as an NFL Draft prospect who has only played in four career games, so Galloway will need to prove he can stay on the field for the Tigers in order to pad his scarcely thin portfolio at this point. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, however, Galloway provides a strong frame and large target for Lawrence, which is much needed after the loss of Justyn Ross for the year.
Will Galloway have any rust? Can he prove to be a threat on the field for the Tigers? He remains one of the most curious 2021 NFL Draft prospects of any as the 2020 season gets underway for Clemson.
