Could the Bears replace Allen Robinson in the 2021 NFL Draft?

The Chicago Bears have a problem on their hands as their star wide receiver Allen Robinson has requested either a new contract or a trade from the team. Even after a win, they may now have to seek to replace their top wide receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Good news for the Bears? It is a talented and deep class of pass catchers who will be available by the time April rolls around. It will not be easy to replace a receiver coming off of a year where he managed to rack up nearly 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns on 98 catches despite atrocious quarterback play. However, with a first round pick for the first time in two years after the trade for Khalil Mack, the Bears may be in position to grab a premier guy in the draft.

Besides, a trade of Robinson could put the Bears in a situation to potentially move up and snag Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence should Mitch Trubisky struggle to maintain the success he found in Week 1. For now, however, it seems as though the sights of general manager Ryan Pace should be set on potentially filling a massive void that would come if they opted to trade Robinson.

At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Robinson has the uncanny ability to win vertically down the field, and has proven to do so throughout his NFL career. Seemingly not missing a beat despite an ACL injury, Robinson has not put together monster numbers for two different teams with suspect quarterback play.

The goal here is to identify and break down four potential draft prospects who could take the place of Robinson next year who are slotted to land within the first two round of the 2021 NFL Draft. With somewhat similar playstyles to Robinson, these four names could rise near the top of Pace’s draft board should their star receiver depart.
