Ja’Marr Chase, LSU

Perhaps the biggest name of them all, and a receiver who officially declared for the 2021 NFL Draft, LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase has star-studded potential and could be a day-one replacement for Robinson with the Bears. After a monster season with Heisman Trophy winner and first overall pick Joe Burrow, Chase has opted to call it a collegiate year and end it on a high note.

While Chase is not the best athlete of this crop of wide receiver, he possess great size and off-the-charts functional play strength to bully defensive backs down the field and to win at the catchpoint with frequency. He needs some work with his release off the line of scrimmage, but is savvy off of his breaks to create enough room to allow for him to make a catch comfortably.

The Biletnikoff Award winner for the nations’ best receiver, Chase is coming off of a year with over 1,700 yards and 20 touchdowns receiving. This production is rare, and as he trains for the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine before the draft, he has the chance to firmly place himself at the top of the draft if he proves to be a better athlete than suspected.

The Bears will likely need to find themselves picking in the top-5 or the top-10 at the very least in order to obtain Chase given his current draft status and relative allotment in mock drafts. Robinson to Chase would be the best possible transition for the Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft.
