CeeDee Lamb had a very impressive day for the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys faced off against the Atlanta Falcons this last Sunday and through the first half, it appeared to be the Falcons game — heading into the locker room at half the score was 29-10 in Atlanta’s favor. A complete meltdown and onside kick later and the Falcons were leaving with their chins down after a field goal that would seal the deal for Dallas, the final score being 40-39.

Dallas struggled to move the ball in the first half but was able to settle down as the game went on. A big reason the Cowboys were able to have as much success on offense as they did this last Sunday has a lot to do with rookie wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb. The receiver position was not one of the major needs heading into the draft for Dallas, but after Lamb fell to 17, the Cowboys went for the best player available, and it appears it may have been the right call.

In his debut for Dallas last weekend against the Los Angeles Rams, Lamb was effective catching 5 balls for 59 yards on 6 targets from Dak Prescott. In his second game against the Falcons, Lamb brought in 6 catches for 106 yards on 9 targets. Lamb has yet to find the endzone, but don’t let that take away from his impressive start to his rookie season.

In his game against Atlanta 3 of his 6 catches came on third-down and on each of them he was able to find the sticks and give the Cowboys another set of downs. Now that the table has been set, let’s dig into the tape to see what helped Lamb to excel this early on in his career.
