Kansas State vs Oklahoma: 4 2021 NFL Draft prospects to watch
OT Adrian Ealy, Oklahoma
Oklahoma brought back quite the experienced offensive line for 2020 and while Creed Humphrey is at the top of that list after being a potential first-round pick had he declared, we certainly can’t forget about right tackle Adrian Ealy.
Ealy broke onto the scene in 2019, starting all 12 games at right tackle. The 6-foot-6, 328-pound redshirt junior has plenty of strength to his game. Ealy had good ability to keep himself in between the edge defender and his quarterback. He almost is like a brick wall for pass-rushers trying to get pressure on the quarterback. He does a good job of getting into his set and using his long arms to keep defenders at bay.
Jordan Reid of The Draft Network writes this in his scouting report on Ealy:
"“Ealy is a linear and lean offensive tackle prospect, but possesses a long torso. Because of this, his body and structure overall looks to weigh much less than his listed weight indicates. Having impressive limbs overall, when able to get hands on and sustain, defenders have lots of troubles with getting out of his grasp. As a pass protector, he makes it difficult to get around him because of his length. Rushers that simply want to run up field and attempt to bypass him are highly unsuccessful.”"
He has also shown good ability to handle different run blocks. Oklahoma loves pulling their guards and tackles and Ealy is no exception. He has good athletic ability to quickly get down the line of scrimmage and kick out any defender that comes in his way. He can also quickly swivel his hips on outside runs. He’s also still growing as a prospect, so is there is still plenty in the tank with Ealy. He’s going to be an intriguing prospect to continue to monitor.
