One last look at Panthers film on Brown

Not exactly the flashiest play here, but it’s just good football on display here from Brown. He one gets off the block as he has been doing all game, but two, it’s a nice smart, savvy play he makes here. One could argue the tackle was handed to him on a platter because the defense did a good job of setting the edge and that’s a fair take, however, Brown should get credit for not over pursuing and getting too antsy to make the tackle. He does a great job of flowing with the play on the backside and being there to make the tackle, again just good football from the rookie.

I think it’s safe to say that the Charger’s center is one happy camper he doesn’t have to face Brown again this year because he was getting whooped all night. Even on this play where he gets a chip block from the right guard, but that doesn’t stop Brown from walking through him. Unlike the rest of his reps, Brown does get a bit high out of his stance, but with his sheer power affords him that luxury at times.

After the right guard disengages form the double team, you can get the fat lady because it’s time to sing. Brown again just abuses the center and hits him with a nifty little swim move. Once more, Herbert is able to release the ball just before Brown could get the finish.

All-in-all a great performance by the rookie in only his third game in the NFL.
