2021 NFL Draft: Tutu Atwell needs more than dynamics to his game

There is a reason that Atwell is a highly regarded wide receiver prospect, and it is because of his big time playmaking ability. From the start of his reps to the end of them, there are positive traits and techniques to take away from Atwell’s game as he looks to climb the ranks in this wide receiver class.
He has no false steps off the line of scrimmage and shows great burst when he is unopposed off his release. When there is a defensive back in front of him, Atwell has great feet to win off the line of scrimmage and get a clean release as he continues to work upfield. He is quick in and out of his breaks, and has the ability to manipulate defensive backs with his head and jab steps at the top of his routes.

Despite his size, Atwell possess strong hands, and even with a limited catch radius, he can make catches outside of his frame with a high level of efficiency. However, the most tantalizing trait about Atwell is his elite speed. Not only is his short speed and burst elite, but Atwell can separate deep down the field excellent long speed as well. He is an absolute angle buster in the open field and can turn the corner with a great deal of effectiveness.
The ability to make plays after the catch is tantalizing, and Atwell has that big play ability for the Louisville offense. Along the boundaries and down the field, Atwell has a great ability to track the ball deep, and possesses great body control along the sideline as he brings the ball in with concentration.
