Falcons press reset button with Justin Fields in 7-round mock draft

Round 4, Pick 98: Jabril Cox, LB, LSU
A common theme throughout the rest of this mock draft for Atlanta will be the side of the ball they address. After landing Paye in the third round, the Falcons now head to the second level of their defense and land a linebacker to pair with Deion Jones for the future. After transferring from North Dakota State to LSU, linebacker Jabril Cox has made a big time impact on the Tiger defense already.
He is massive, listed at 6-foot-4 and 231 pounds, an extravagantly fluid athlete, and possesses a high level of instincts from the second level of the defense in the Bayou. As he continues to shoot up draft boards, Cox is a massive target to keep an eye on towards the future for the dirty birds. To start day-three of the draft, the Falcons land Cox with the 98th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Round 5, Pick 130: Jordon Scott, DT, Oregon
Off to the fifth round here, and the Falcons get a massive plug in Oregon defensive tackle Jordon Scott. He can play at the nose tackle spot or as a three-technique as he eats up blockers and keeps them off the second level of the defense. After opting to return to the Ducks for the 2020 season, he will have to prove he is a one-tech worth taking in the draft as they tend to get overlooked. The Falcons get the boulder to the middle of their defensive front in Scott here.
Round 6, Pick 162: Camryn Bynum, CB, California
The Atlanta cornerback room has not been great. However both starting cornerbacks are rather young in Kendall Sheffield and A.J. Terrell, so it would be a surprise to see them go to that well early in the 2020 NFL Draft. Instead, with their sixth round pick, they land another talented cornerback in Cal’s Camryn Bynum. Should Sheffield and Terrell need another running mate, or at the very least depth, Bynum will serve that greatly as he is one of the more slept on cornerbacks in this class.
