What could the Arizona Cardinals net in the 2021 NFL Draft?

The Arizona Cardinals are an interesting team. Two years ago they were so bad that they had the #1 overall pick, then they brought in a new head coach, new quarterback, and new attitude. If you watched some of their games the following year, you could already easily tell what their identity was. You could also tell that Kyler Murray may be an actual legit NFL quarterback.

Fast forward to 2020, they traded for the best wide receiver in the game, added a top 10 draft pick, brought back the best pass rusher in the game, and have a whole season under their new head coach. Needless to say, things are looking up for the team from Glendale, Arizona.

As crazy as this may sound, Arizona was actually my NFC Super Bowl pick for this season. I also had Kyler Murray as the 2020 NFL MVP. While this may or not become true, I fully understand the reserves here. However, the last two NFL MVP’s were also 2nd year quarterbacks who were surrounded by good rosters and good coaching.

I don’t want to unfairly compare Kyler to Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, but there sure seems to be an NFL trend here (talented 2nd year quarterbacks who once had major question marks). That being said, whether or not the Arizona Cardinals make it to the postseason, I have conducted a plan for them to pursue in the 2021 NFL Draft. And obviously, that plan does not include a quarterback (or does it).
