Round 5: Javian Hawkins,RB (Louisville)

Remember when I said they could use some elite speed on offense? Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds out of the backfield do not possess that.

Javian Hawkins does.

Hawkins is your typical undersized gadget back with big-play ability. He would be electric in this offense.

Round 6: Al Blades Jr., CB (Miami)

As of right now, the Cardinals have some nice pieces in their secondary. However, Dre Kirkpatrick is not a long-term answer, and Patrick Peterson isn’t getting any younger.

Getting a talented corner from The U with the last pick of the draft could have its upsides in a few years. Jack Borowsky of The Dynasty Draft Room has this to say about Blades:

"“Al Blades Jr followed in his father’s footsteps as a defensive back for the Miami Hurricanes. He has good size for an outside cornerback and is built well. He already has the size to play at the NFL level. He is a physical cornerback who gets his hands on wideouts at the line of scrimmage. He can play with his eyes in the backfield, and Blades Jr. comes back to the ball well. His instincts allow him to break on the ball, and with his length, Al can break up slant passes.”"

The Cardinals only have six selections as of now, but we still have six months until the 2021 NFL Draft. I would hope they look to add some more, even though their roster is currently in pretty decent shape.

Great teams don’t get complacent.
