A UNC running back is on the rise with the 2021 NFL Draft up next

We are about two weeks away from Thanksgiving, and college football is back to normal. Well…almost. We’ve been waiting months for the Big 10 and Pac-12 to start up to see them ripped away from us with outbreaks of the ongoing health crisis. It’s a hard thing to manage, but we’ve seen some great football across the country, especially in the ACC. Notre Dame looks like a contender even though they did not face Trevor Lawrence, and with the 2021 NFL Draft upcoming.

Miami looks to be dangerous with D’Eriq King and a good pass rush. Boston College might have found something in former Notre Dame quarterback Phil Jurkovec. However, the University of North Carolina might be one of the most exciting teams to watch right now, and it is not because of Sam Howell.

North Carolina has one of the most potent offenses in the country. They are averaging 537.9 yards per game, 40.9 points per game, and 239.4 yards on the ground. Sam Howell isn’t having a bad year by any means, but this team’s story is the two running backs. Senior Michael Carter and Junior Javonte Williams have been on a tear this year.

Both are averaging over seven yards per carry! Williams has started to make headlines with his play. He’s currently tied for the lead in rushing touchdowns with Najee Harris at fourteen. Williams came into the season as a bit of a sleeper at running back but now has fully solidified himself within the top tier.
